Farm Works, the leader in agricultural software, is releasing a state of the art personal computing device to be used in a truck, tractor, sprayer, or ATV. The Rugged Tablet PC, also known as Titan RT, uses the latest technology and software for field applications. The versatile device allows growers to use their existing GPS receiver along with the Farm Works Software "Mate" programs in order to perform a wide range of tasks in the field.

The large-screened Rugged Tablet PC is easier to see than smaller, handheld computing devices (such as personal data assistants). The nearly eight and a half inch wide computer screen makes it easier for the grower to see what is displayed while at the wheel of the sprayer or tractor and driving over rugged terrain. The device is tougher than PDAs, too, so it is less likely to become damaged while out in the producer's field. Designed to handle the heat, cold, rain, dust, and dirt, growers will reduce stress by securing their data and eliminate time spent reinstalling software programs.

Combined with Farm Works Software programs, the affordable Rugged Tablet PC provides a mid-cost option for growers to use GPS for mapping field boundaries, scouting problem areas, guidance, soil sampling and variable rate control. Crop record-keeping can also be integrated for generating application maps of seed varieties, fertilizer, and chemical usage. The hardy device utilizes a convenient touch screen and built-in device ports that support a wide-range of GPS receivers and variable rate controllers. The device has mounting accessories that make it easy to affix to any vehicle cab or ATV. Data may also be easily transported to a personal computer from the device.
