How do I use Farm Works Software?  Let me count the alternative ways…

1.  Conservation Program Design

a.       Using your software enables you, the landowner or operator, to more work closely with public officials (NRCS, FSA) and have more direct input into conservation program design. 

b.      You can calculate the acreages for each of the conservation programs used, change the design using “what if” type scenarios, pick the best design to fit your needs and compliance with government regulations.

c.       Calculate government share payments and program implementation costs based on actual, geo-referenced calculations.

d.      Show your design to:  potential wildlife hunters with deer stand, duck blind/pit, food plot locations; recreational users such as dirt bike or other trail riders; or real estate buyers interested in wildlife and recreational properties.

e.       Estimate supply needs and costs for annual maintenance:  seeding, mowing, weed control.

f.        Keep records such as operations performed, dates, costs and revenues, chemicals used (where, when, rates), wildlife removal.

g.       Produce graphics for brochure/internet advertisements.

2.   Maze Designs

1. Design you own corn maze, for your georeferenced field boundary, any way you want. 
2. Calculate the linear feet within the maze.
3. Print your design (or your previous year’s design) for brochures, media ads, or flyers.
4. Add text for advertising specials dates and events, directions to your farm, and other products or services offered.
5. Rent handheld GPS devices to customers so that they can track themselves within the maze and document their path.

3.   Hunting Areas

1. Georeference hunting camps.
2. Print maps of roads, lodges, stands, pits or other designated areas.
3. Convert maps to images to give to members or enlarge for placement on the lodge wall.
4. Log (GIS) game removal throughout the camp and plot on the map.

4.   Oil Drilling, Storage and Pipelines

1. Map oil and gas transmission lines.
2. Map oil fields with different colors for water lines, oil to storage tank lines, size and length of lines, valves, water tanks, and roads.
